Xbox 360 "support" in isn't a native feature yet, but recent 2026 updates have significantly improved the workaround for playing these games in your virtual bedroom. While there is no official Libretro core for Xbox 360, the new Capture Core and community-made User Generated Content (UGC) allow you to simulate the experience with high detail. Performance & Setup Window Capture: You must run the Xenia emulator (Xbox 360) as a standalone program and "capture" its window into a virtual TV within EmuVR. Resource Heavy: Running EmuVR, VR, and a high-end emulator like Xenia simultaneously requires a powerful PC; users have noted performance hits even on mid-range hardware. Manual Boot: Unlike SNES or NES games, 360 games won't auto-boot when you insert a disc; you'll typically need to navigate the standalone emulator menu outside VR first. New Visuals & Customization UGC Models: Detailed Xbox 360 console models and game cases are available as community UGC items via the EmuVR Discord. Dynamic Loading: The latest 1.0.13 update introduced parallel asynchronous loading, making these heavy custom assets load up to twice as fast. Experimental Features: Some creators are testing new video output methods (like the "Sprout" mod) for better performance and automatic loading compared to the standard window capture. The Verdict Incredible nostalgia with detailed 3D 360 models No native plug-and-play support Play nearly any 360 game Xenia supports Very high PC hardware requirements Social play via Netplay with friends Requires manual setup for window capture Check out these community updates and guides on setting up modern consoles and custom content in EmuVR: EMUVR | Update 1.0.13 Has Arrived! 1K views · 1 month ago YouTube · Honosuseri EMUVR | XBOX360 Xenia Dashboard Test 573 views · 2 months ago YouTube · Honosuseri EMUVR | How To Window Capture Emulators Etc. 1K views · 4 months ago YouTube · Honosuseri
